Ian is Project Manager of the multi-disciplinary team provided by Oriental Consultants Ltd for the preparation of the Qatar National Master Plan.
He works as a development strategist, project director and project champion advising at executive and board level to corporations, national governments and multi-lateral agencies on change management, futures methodologies and other mechanisms for achieving truly sustainable development.
He has worked at all scales, from city design, national and regional planning to complex site -specific development. He has completed projects in over 40 countries throughout Europe, Asia, Australasia and the Middle East. These include planning for urban extensions, new towns and cities, regional studies, national plans and urban transformations in a number of cities.
His professional specialism in development strategy includes diagnostics, planning, design and delivery of effective implementation and distinctive identities for new and revitalised places across national, city and local scales. He has particular experience in transit-oriented development and its application as a driver of sustainable urbanism.
He is a Director of Place Dynamix Ltd in the UK and Hong Kong. Ian has been Project Manager of the Consultant Team for the QNMP since April 2009.
